The Yason are the original inhabitants of Efferia. In their language, Yason means those who hold their heads downwards (that tidbit of info came from the official Japanese site, I'm assuming it makes and allusion to the Yason and their worship of nature, as opposed to their heads being hung in shame or something). Trees have always been considered holy by the Yason, as they contain holy powers, so tree worshipping is commonplace within Yason-Roven. The Yason live in unity with nature, unlike the humans with their stone buildings and machines. The capital of Yason-Roven, Epentar, is the location of the most holy tree, the Tree of Light, and serves as a unifying force within the Yason population.

The Yason have vindi marked on their bodies, which allow them to absorb power from the trees, more specifically, the Tree of Light. It is due to these vindi that Yason are stronger, develop more quickly, and live longer than humans. Another marked distinction between human and Yason are the Yason's ears.
